President William Baker

williambaker@neo.tamu.edu Howdy, my name is William Baker and I’m a proud, moderately loud member of the Fightin Texas Aggie Class of 2014 (A-Whoop!). I am a Physics Major from Southlake, Texas and I’m a runner and a reader. I work with Dr. Rupak Mahapatra in the CDMS collaboration (hunting for Dark Matter/WIMPS), and I plan on going to graduate school after I graduate. When I’m not being bogged down by classes, you can find me tutoring around the Physics building, or in the Undergraduate Lounge, or the new SPS office. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns: please email me at williambaker@tamu.edu or sps.tamu@gmail.com.

Events Director Chris Akers

cakers1@neo.tamu.edu Howdy! My name is Chris Akers, and I’m a senior physics major, mostly interested in all subfields of cosmology. I hope to become a researching professor someday – hopefully leading as column large a research group as I can. This year I’m Vice President and Director of Events (DoE) for SPS, and as DoE I get to plan the fun stuff for SPS. Intra-department assassins game? Weekend camping for physics majors? Movie nights in Hawking Auditorium? Planning those things is the domain of the Events committee. The ultimate goal is to help unify all the levels of the department by providing awesome activities where everyone can get to know everyone else, and also to offer some way for physics majors to really get involved and have fun with their department.

caitlincoolio@neo.tamu.edu Howdy! I’m Caitlin Campbell a senior physics major from Plano, Texas and the PR director for SPS this year. I love Aggieland with my whole heart. I’m a proud bookworm and movie geek. I work with Dr. Mahapatra in the CDMS group along with Will, and I have no idea what I will be doing after I graduate. My subcommittee will be responsible for getting the word out to campus about Physics Festival and other awesome events the SPS and our department will be putting on this year. Let’s get more people involved in SPS!
